What Happens If Something’s Damaged or Doesn’t Fit?

We get it — buying roof bars, bike racks or roof tents online can feel like a gamble. What if it’s the wrong size? What if it arrives damaged? At MyRoofBars, we’ve made sure your experience stays easy, even if something goes wrong.

Here’s what to do — and what we’ll do — if things aren’t right.


📦 Item Arrived Damaged?

We pack everything securely, but sometimes boxes can get knocked about in transit. If anything’s damaged when it arrives:

✅ Here’s what to do:

  1. Take clear photos of the item and packaging as soon as you open it.

  2. Contact us using our contact page or reply to your order email.

  3. Include your order number, photos, and a quick explanation.

We’ll usually resolve this within 1 business day — and send a replacement or refund ASAP.

💡 Pro Tip:

Even small damage to bars or mounting hardware can affect safety — always check before fitting.


❌ Ordered the Wrong Item?

No problem — it happens all the time, especially with vehicle-specific bars or racks.

If it’s not fitted yet and still in its packaging:

  • You can return it within 14 days

  • Just get in touch via our Returns page

  • Once received, we’ll issue a refund or help you swap for the right item

📌 Returns must be unused and in original packaging — so don’t peel off stickers or trim parts!
